15 Years of Culture, Art & Tango

Tango Acropolis Festivals is the official cultural Tango festival of Greece, registered with the Ministry of Culture, and a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Argentine culture and Tango as a form of global cultural heritage.

Based in Athens — the birthplace of art and culture — Tango Acropolis highlights Tango as a means of expression, communication, and human connection, conveying its profound philosophy and spirit through high-level artistic and educational initiatives.

Cultural Venues & Events

Since 2011, Tango Acropolis Festivals has organized events at iconic cultural venues in Athens and across Greece, including:

• the courtyard of the Acropolis Museum
• the archaeological site of the Roman Agora
• Zappeion Megaron
• the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls
• four performances at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus
• the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center
• the Pallas Theatre

International Presence & Mundial del Tango

For three consecutive years, Tango Acropolis officially represented the Mundial del Tango de Buenos Aires, organizing the official qualifying competition in Greece. Participants from cities across Mediterranean Europe competed for qualification, with the winners representing Greece in the semi-finals of the competition in Buenos Aires.
